Preventative Dental Care

What is Preventative Dental Care?

Your children require routine preventative care to keep their teeth and gums healthy. Preventative care is done both at home and in-office. At-home care requires regular brushing and flossing as well as making changes to a child’s diet that would otherwise compromise the health of their teeth. In-office preventative care involves professional cleanings, examinations and other treatments that work together to create stronger smiles.

Why does your child need Preventative Dental Care?

Every child needs routine preventative care for their teeth and gums. In fact, it’s a good idea to begin establishing your child as a dental patient as soon as you begin to notice their first teeth coming up through the gums. We offer preventative care options that keep their teeth strong and their gums healthy. We monitor your child’s tooth development to ensure that their smile is coming into place properly.

What does Preventative Dental Care mean for your child?

Preventative dental care typically refers to in-office treatments that prevent problems like decay and gingivitis. Most often, this is done through regular exams and professional cleanings. Other treatment options may include dental sealants and fluoride treatments that are used to strengthen the structure of your child’s teeth. We can pre-schedule your child’s appointments for you so that you never forget to bring them in for a checkup.
